WHAT IS PILATES?
Joseph Pilates created the Pilates Method more than 70 years ago as an exercise and rehabilitation program for all body types. As a gymnast, Pilates had an exceptional understanding of the body and used his knowledge to create his system of conditioning. Along with an outstanding number of benefits, Pilates also leaves students with an awareness of the body, as well as a feeling of mental and physical harmony. Using resistance and non-impact exercises, Pilates challenges the mind and body while creating a lean, healthy silhouette. Whether you are male or female, athletic or not, 17 or 70, Pilates can change your life by giving you the tools to connect with your core and strengthen your body.
Not only do you see and feel the benefits of the Pilates Method, you will enjoy yourself while working towards your personal goals! Pilates may not be a high-energy cardio workout, but it is a fun and exciting way to tone your body without putting strain and pressure on your muscles and bones. There are hundreds of exercises to challenge your mind and body, and there is always something new and exciting to learn. Once you try Pilates and see and feel the results, you will wonder why you hadn’t started sooner!
